Description:
More than 70 years after the emergence of Cybernetic theories that influenced Nicolas Schoffer work and cultural environment, in our hyper-connected present, we are evolving among computational feedback loops happening in every layer of our reality : be it human, machines, living entities or minerals. This ubiquity compeled us to interrogate our cybernetic inheritance: What vestiges of Schöffer's pioneering principles persist in our digital zeitgeist? What aesthetic and structural DNA do these systems carry within their coded genomes? The artwork Action-Reaction embodies the Janus-faced reality that exists in our cybernetic legacy. One side unveils a world of monitoring and surveillance systems, where data becomes the currency of control. The other side reveals an abstract realm of endless possibility, where the boundaries between the organic and the synthetic blur into a new aesthetic frontier.
